Yeah … for starters the T-shirts should use the exact same "China Boxer" logo from the website, in black or white print (front or back). Another idea would be the various sayings that we hear Sifu using from time to time. Like, "You attack, but I get there first." Or, "Soft as a blade of grass. Hard as a bar of steel." "Heavy elbows." etc. etc. The addition of the web address is a great idea to draw extra traffic to the site.

Of course since our Sifu got some of those sayings from his Sifu, Jin may have to ask permission to use them in the merchandising and offer a percentage?

I can also imagine the image of various Wing Chun positions: Tan Sau, Fook Sau, Bong Sau … all with the Wu Sau on T-shirts could be kool too?

When I get the time I'll try to sketch some of these ideas out.

http://www.thechinaboxer.com should be on every one of them. That way, all your fans will walk around with them, and serve as advertisement for your website, which will in turn bring more fans.

A good variety of products would be awesome. Jin, have you checked out cafepress? Design is kind of limited there but it's a place to start for sure! And it's free to sign up and make everything--to my knowledge.

I'd personally like a baseball T!

Yeah Jin, some china Boxer tank tops, short and long sleeve Tees would be great! Maybe a preorder of shirts on your site would be a good way to get things started. This way you could see how many people would be interested in the merchandise to see if it is worth having the shirts made. Im sure all of your members would want one!

hey bro, great suggestions! we're working on "branding" and merchandise, probably starting with t-shirts for working out and of course DVD's. a logo contest sounds fun. eventually we'll get there, it all takes time and money, both of which i have little to spare, but most importantly, i'm enjoying the journey and i hope you guys/gals are too!

Hey Jin,

many bloggers make money with merchandising, such as t-shirts, mouse pads, etc.

In your case I think you could really start a market with simple things to start. For example, I want a black t-shirt with a silver writing "China Boxer"... Or one with the writing "Hi, I'm Jin! Today we're going to practice on..." I'm sure you also have some pictures one can modify, cartoonize, or else, and put on a t-shirt.

Maybe you need a Logo for all that. If so, you could start a contest on the Forum: design China Boxer logo and win a sport suite, though I would prefer to win a trip to your gym...

Hey in the "ask jin" section it's saying that there's a post I haven't viewed, I've checked it and I'm sure that I seen everything. Is this just a case of me being a dumbarse or do you think it could be a bug? anyone else have this problem? if not the the former is prob the best outcome

the current theme has evolved a problem and the "left and right" sliders have disappeared! i have contacted the tech's and they are on it, should have it fixed soon!

Is there something wrong with the video-browsing-function? I can only see the first four videos of every category, the button that moved to the next "page" does not appear anymore. Is there a problem or am I doing something wrong?

I'm on a Mac, using Firefox 3.5.6.

i had the same problem with the stone cutter thread, i solved it by copying the whole text then pasting it on notepad

I'm having a problem viewing posts, but only in one thread. In the Stone Cutter thread in the Philosophy Discussion section, the longer posts just run off the screen instead of wrapping around.

Also, my signature isn't showing. That might be because I don't have a name because I also show up as "guest" instead of "member". I actually put "0" in the name field on my profile (without the quotes) and when I saved it, it saved it as blank. I'm not terribly concerned about any of that. I just thought it might be worth mentioning. I would like to be able to read the other posts in the Stone Cutter thread though.
