Hi Jin!
i wached your vids on youtube and i really like your way of wing chun.
theoretical you showed alot, how is it about sparring/sparring-DRILLS?
i know its really a decent thing to spar wing chun… but i´d love to see
you in action AND your idea of sparring.
my problem is, that i lose most of my wing chun skills when it comes to sparring…
no tan-sao, no bong-sao… maybe others are also interested in it!
keep up the honorable work!
cheers

i agree, problem is finding people who do other martial arts such as muay thai, boxing, grappling etc…who want to spar with me and letting me film them to post on the internet. it's a tricky proposition because most people don't want too, but i'm trying to find a few friends who trust me and who are also very good at what they do.

really? everyone with a little bit fighting knowledge could do the job imo, especially if the guy is bigger its getting interesting.
if its a professional martial arts guy, i can imagine the problem, because he could "lose" his glory with the filmed stuff.
maybe you find someone.
anyway- thanks.
cheers

what i forgot, what also includes sparring, are drills!
what you could show without a other real martial arts fighter.
just some simulatet situation with protection, how you would react or solve some situations.
the difference is that its a bit more aggressive and powerfull, than normal wing chun drills and it includes other fighting-arts attacks (example: cross punches from boxers). would be very nice to see how you would take care of such attacks.
cheers

I believe the way to improve this would make sparring by using only several offensive or defensive moves, let yourself notice the couple you mentioned. Do those alone properly.
And work on basic concepts concerning your body structure, so that you are not another chaotic guy just trying to overcome your sparring partner any seemingly possible way, where matters nothing but handspeed.

thanks for the advice!
this is a good way, we also did this…
i think im just to bad in wing chun (1,5 years 2day/week training).
maybe to early for me to sparr.

Glad for your efforts.
Talking about sparring, it would always depend on your partner, too, wouldn't it. Let's say, imagine yourself involved in a street fight, so you really expect your opponent ask you those things just mentioned? And what do you think would you tell that hooligan?
